The Netflix platform released the official trailer for the biographical documentary about Michelle Obama, which will be called “Becoming: My Story.”
The production directed by Nadia Hallgren will hit the streaming space on Wednesday May 6 and will narrate the life of the wife of the former President of the United States, Barack Obama. From her childhood to the years after having served with her husband in the White House for eight years.
The production shows Michelle’s fight to empower African American women amidst the prejudices they face on a daily basis, Netflix said in a statement.
It is worth mentioning that “Becoming: My story” is the most recent collaboration of the Obama couple with the streaming platform after “American Factory”, the first documentary film produced by Michelle and Barack that portrays the precarious situation in which the workers of a factory in the city of Dayton, Ohio.
A few days after the premiere of this long-awaited production, Michelle expressed her emotions in an Instagram post. “I’m delighted to take a look at Becoming before it premieres on Netflix this Wednesday, May 6. This film tells my story, from my childhood on the South Side of Chicago to my life today, and celebrates the stories of so many people I met along the way.
